The great state of Florida.
This week I'm joining an old friend from my working life to help him bring his new 38' trawler yacht from St. Petersburg, across Lake Okeechobee, and then to Vero Beach which will be a bit of an adventure. I'd always wanted to do the cross Florida trip; the last opportunity was when we bought the Grand Banks 42 in Punta Gorda and needed to get it across the state to Vero Beach but the lake level was way down because of a summer long drought and there was insufficient depth in the lake channel to get across so we brought to boat around through Florida Bay and the Keys which turned a 5 day run into 11 days. I'm hoping this trip goes a lot smoother!
